Citing her “hard work, devotion and innovative thinking”, One Life at a Time’s Chris Driscoll O’Neill has been nominated for this year’s Influential Businesswomen Awards.
Presented by Acquisition International, a London-based finance publication, the honor is meant to acknowledge “the remarkable achievements made by strong women from a diverse range of industries.”
Helping the jobless successfully re-enter the workforce since 2007, One Life at a Time has assisted over 14,000 individuals and has an 89% success rate.
It was founded by O’Neill after a particularly difficult period of unemployment earlier in her career.
In a 2010 newspaper interview, she explained how her own struggles ultimately inspired the organization’s creation: “I knew how hard it was for me to be unemployed, and I knew there would be others facing that same challenge. I lost things and I could have lost everything, but I picked myself up and got back on my feet. I wanted to make sure that other people looking for jobs could have some resources.”
O’Neill has been profiled in the Boston Globe, (Quincy, Mass.) Patriot-Ledger, NBC Nightly News and elsewhere as part of her corporate and charitable work.
One Life at a Time offers a Career Boot Camp designed to bring workers up to speed on the latest job search tactics and trends, resume and cover letter writing, interviewing and networking techniques, as well as target company research.
